About the Artist
Hi there, I’m Cathy and I’m the person behind the paints and brushes at The Little Paporium.
I live on the Kentish Coast in Whitstable and my paintings are inspired by the everyday.
Whether it’s taking my little dog Pippin out for a walk, grabbing a coffee, cooking a cosy meal, or day tripping with friends, there is always something that catches my eye and has me reaching for my sketchbook.
I’m also so inspired by pattern, something which lead me to create my hand painted range of candles and baubles.
My favourite mediums are gouache and pencil crayon which both help me bring a really simple and whimsical feel to my work. I really enjoy brushy textures and imperfect edges - you’ll notice I always leave the raw border of the sketchbook page in my art prints. There’s beauty in the imperfections!
When I’m not painting, you’ll find me taking strolls down the beach, baking delicious treats, drinking an oat flat whites and roaming around the beautiful shops of my hometown with Pippin by my side.
